IMG_4142So lately I have been on a little bit of an Arnold Schwarzenegger (Red Sonja) kick lately… So far I have checked out Commando (1985)… A great movie that also stars Alyssa Milano (Crash Course) and Rae Dawn Chong (Quest For Fire)! A great action film about a former special forces officer who goes after the guys  that kidnap his daughter!

That was a great movie that I actually hadn’t seen in a fair number of years. Another one… This one I recently picked up that I haven’t seen since I was a kid that is also really good is: Kindergarten Cop (1990).

Written by: Murray Salem (The Spy Who Loved Me), Herschel Weingrod (Twins) & Timothy Harris (Trading Places). Directed by: Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters) & Starring: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Penelope Ann Miller (Awakenings), Pamela Reed (Bean), Joseph Cousins (Critters 3), Christian Cousins (Twin Sitters) & Richard Tyson (Kingpin).

“Get some rest and don’t worry. I’ve been working undercover for a long time. They’re six-year-olds. How much trouble can they be?” A quote from the movie: Kindergarten Cop (1990)!

If you are looking for Arnold’s usual kick-ass action extravaganza, this isn’t it… But it is still a fun, feel good movie about an undercover cop by the name of John Kimble (Schwarzenegger), who in his efforts to locate and put away a lowlife by the name of Crisp (Tyson)… Goes to a small town with his partner to find the lowlifes wife whom they thought had stolen 3 million dollars from him before running off with their kid!

Now this partner (Reed) used to be a teacher before becoming a cop… And their assignment in the small town is to infilitrate the local School and try to find the ex-wife… But when the partner become sick… He takes over… And he will find that taking care of 6 year old kids maybe harder then arresting the toughest criminals… But it maybe more rewarding then doing so!

Detective John Kimble maybe able to handle the most hardened criminals but can he take on a class of 6 year olds?

Like I said before… This is not your usual Schwarzenegger action extravaganza… But you know what? It doesn’t have to be! It has all of the right marks as a drama and a comedy, with a little action thrown in… The only drawback… Is that this is a movie that is more suited to watching with kids… So unless you like these types of movies (I do, and you might enjoy them as well…) This may not be the film for you… But you might want to try it anyway… It is fun!
